I’ve spent my summer working at a local (but very prestigious) magazine in Sarasota, Florida. Recently we’ve been having castings for our upcoming Hot List Party (THE party of the year in Sarasota, with food, fashion, and entertainment that reflects what editors have chosen as the “Hot Items” for the year) Anyways, we had a flood of models from all over Florida (mostly Tampa and Miami) in our offices yesterday cause we’re casting for our fashion show. I didn’t realize it at the time (because I’m not a hardcore ANTM fan and because this girl isn’t a fame-name dropper) but one of the girls from season 9 came into the casting. 

Her name is Janet (who after some extensive googling was apparently the one who got on everyones case about needing to be tidy… sounds like a girl after my own heart) and she has the most adorable pixie cut. At one point I had to show her where the bathroom was and got to take a good look at her edgy auburn locks and she’s the sweetest girl ever. Very bubbly and outgoing, definitely had the most personality of any of the girls that came in. And just for the record, so much cuter in person than in the pics they showed on ANTM. I’m in Florida, so any semi-celebrity sighting is exciting… even if she didn’t actually win the competition.

Rochelle, one of my favorite people in the office (who I bonded with immediately over the fact that we’re both tall and love to wear heels… except she’s 6ft. so she’s got three inches on me) told me you could tell that she had been on a reality show by how bubbly and excited she was compared to the other models. Just goes to show that you definitely need to have a big personality to be on reality tv. 

ps. as i am typing this the most adorable looking male just walked in for our second day of casting… total abercrombie model. Yum… why is this my last week again?
