In addition to all the floral, lace, wedges, denim, nude tones and all-weather leather this season (I could keep going…), technicolored streaks are one of the many statement-making trends you can expect for Spring/Summer 2010.
Back in September, Zac Posen and Proenza Schouler were among the several designers whose models sported neon extensions down the runway. These bright streaks reappeared last month in Cynthia Rowley and Vena Cava’s Fall 2010 Ready-To-Wear shows and this trend has now gone off the runway and onto the red carpet.
Fashion icons such as Ashley Olsen and Becka Diamond are embracing this vibrant trend, whether it’s subtle with tousled blue and purple waves or bold and electric in a hot pink hue. Dancing With the Stars finalist Kelly Osbourne went for an even more daring look with an all-over lavender color and tweeted a photo of her updated ‘do. Celebrities have rocked this look in the past, but now that designers and trendsetters are behind this hairstyle, maybe wildly-colored locks will finally find their place in the fashion world.
Here’s a quick timeline of where this trend has been and where it brings us now:
What do you think of this spring beauty trend? Are you planning on streaking this season or will you leave this one to the celebs?
