Coco Rocha Goes Designer

Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha has plans to design her own line.

Rococo, a name chosen by her fans at her blog, made its first appearance at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Rocha wore this deep blue gown with a gold inset and accents.

Rocha has appeared on the covers of international Vogue magazines and as the face of campaigns for Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel. Naomi Campbell has called her “my new favorite model.” Beyond being an “it” girl, she has also gained recognition by media as one of the few models to speak out against eating disorders in the industry. In an email to the Associated Press, she wrote: “I’ll never forget the piece of advice I got from people in the industry when they saw my new body … They said, ‘You need to lose more weight. The look this year is anorexia. We don’t want you to be anorexic but that’s what we want you to look like.’”

I’ve always been a fan of Rocha, not only for her look, but for her public persona. Eating disorders are obviously a serious problem in the modeling world and most models choose to be tight-lipped about it. Rocha may be tall, thin, and beautiful, but she’s also an ideal role model. I will definitely be on the lookout for more news about Rococo!
