How would you describe your style?
Simple. I buy things I can wear often. They’re basic, so I can jazz them up with jewelry.

School, Year, Major:
Emory, Graduated May 2009, Business

Why we spotted her:
On the last rainy Saturday, we ducked into the Young Designers Market in Nolita [a must-visit!] where we were dazzled by the emerging treasures of the fashion world. One booth in particular caught our eye, Alexandra Beth Designs, with its edgy yet subtle zippered bracelets– see below. They pay homage to the zipper-trend, but they’ll be wearable past their “fashionable” expiration date. We want one in every color!

How would you describe Alexandra Beth Designs in one sentence?
An inspired line that embraces a distinct and edgy fashion sense.

How did Alexandra Beth Designs start?
It started as Alexandra’s Beads when I was 15 years old at home. It’s emerged over the years, so it’s no longer beads, but it’s metal, it’s chain, it’s leather. I changed it to Alexandra Beth Designs because it’s more versatile. It’s not as limited as Alexandra’s Beads was.

What’s your favorite piece? What’s your bestseller?
My favorite piece is also my bestseller: the leather-wrap bracelet. They’re only about a month old but I can’t stop selling them! I’ve sold more than 100 in the past three and a half weeks. I’m actually off to my leather supplier after our meeting!

How long does it take to make each piece?
The designing takes a while, but after that, 15 to 45 minutes each.

What was your favorite memory from college?
A haunted house Halloween fundraiser I headed when I was philanthropy chair for my sorority. Halloween is my favorite holiday and it was a successful fundraiser.

Describe yourself in three words:
Honest, Easy-going, Adventurous
