I finally saw New Moon last night and couldn’t help but notice how polished and pretty the cast looked. Along with a switch in directors, it appears as though the beauty team revamped the on-screen makeup and hair. Here are my best tips inspired by Bella, Edward, and Jacob.
Glittery Girl: For a mortal’s take on Edward’s glittering skin, look for highlighters with fine shimmer. MAC Strobe Cream, $30, is a multi-purpose product with a luminescent sparkle and subtle floral scent. Use it over or under foundation or all on its own. Dab it where the sun normally hits your skin: down the bridge of your nose, the tops of cheekbones, and along the brow bone.
Pretty and Pale: The signature vampire look is all about that pale, perfect skin. Skip the bronzer and protect your skin’s natural tone with DDF Organic Sun Protection, $32. The SPF 30 will prevent future sun damage and keep you looking as young as the forever young.
Just Bitten: The dark lips of the Cullens are a beautiful contrast to their pale skin. Their lips never look like they have product on, so avoid creamy lipsticks or glosses. To get that sexy vampire pout, try a lip stain in a dark red or berry color. Stila Pomegranate Crush Lip and Cheek Stain, $24, will stay on throughout feeding time.
Glossy Locks: Despite living in the perpetually rainy town of Forks, the cast sports smooth tresses year-round. For hair that looks as healthy and strong as Jacob’s, try Kerastase Ciment Anti-Usure strengthening conditioner, $36. For effortlessly chic waves like Bella’s, try Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse, $4. To get Edward’s edgy, texturized hair try Frederic Fekkai Coiff Nonchalant Piecing and Forming Wax, $23.
