Gossip Girl Favorite Looks: Dan de Fleurette

This week on Gossip Girl, new guest stars, Hillary Duff and Tyra Banks, join the cast. Duff plays Olivia – a movie star who wants a normal life as a college kid. She seems to be on the right track when she meets Dan, who has no idea who she is, oh, and she is roommates with Vanessa. Serena tries to prove to her mom that she can make something of herself without having to go to Brown, so she searches for a job. She winds up being a publicist for Ursula (Banks) and ends up earning her trust and a job. Meanwhile, Constance starts school and Jenny is fed up with the hierarchy that Blair created, so as new “queen” she puts an end to it. When Blair finds out, she almost can’t contain the happiness of being in power of something again. The whole cast comes together at Olivia and Ursula’s movie premiere where Dan finds out who the real Olivia is, Serena befriends Ursula and Chuck takes Jenny to the premiere to stop Blair’s high school nonsense. Chuck convinces Jenny that she really does have the good to be a “queen” and goes back to being the ruler of Constance. I am just glad Georgina was nowhere to be found in this episode, but next week looks like a doozy!

With all the premieres happening and school starting, of course there will be fabulous fashion. I actually am tied this week. There were so many great looks, but what got me was the contrast of Serena’s professionalism and Jenny’s edgy first day of school outfit.

Serena was ready to work in this grey ensemble. She paired a grey Topshop blazer ($125) with a charcoal tank and a Herve Ledger bandage skirt, finished off with a red beaded necklace from Stephen Dweck and black pumps. Normally Serena is in boho shorts and vests, but this is change for her (though she does love bandage skirts and dresses). It give me ideas for job interviews! I was also a big fan of the Herve Ledger dress with sparkling detail she wore to the premiere.

On the other hand, I had to show off Jenny Humphrey because she has great style and looks as well. She rocked her back-to-school look in this leather vest from Rag & Bone ($1,038.80), and BCBGMAXAZRIA chain tank ($88) and Kimberly Taylor “Bette” shorts ($141). Little J accessorized with a studded Be&D “Garbo” satchel ($1,394), an Alex Woo Little Vegas Spade necklace ($928) and Jimmy Choo “Emanuel” sandals ($765).
