Since her release of “Just Dance” in April 2008, I have been vastly entertained by Lady Gaga’s catchy pop lyrics and techno dance beats. However, until recently, I had simply been satisfied with listening to her music whenever it happened (which was becoming increasingly more frequent) to play on the radio. After stalking a friend’s Facebook pictures from one of Lady Gaga’s concerts in Royal Oak, Michigan, I began to become much more curious as to the nature behind this pop artist. For those of you that have been to one of her concerts, you know that they are far from average, or normal for that matter.
While she is still fairly new to the music scene, it is very clear that Gaga is a master performer. Quirky and provocative, her music videos portray a fashion shoot vibe. In a December 2008 interview with the New York Times, Gaga said, “I’m very into fashion — I channel Versace in everything I do.” Did she just refer to Donatella Versace? Now she was talking my language.
